The Hangar is the site for aviation enthusiasts everywhere. We don’t care who you are, where you come from or how big your bank balance is – if you’re interested in flying, you’ve come to the right place.

We pride ourselves on having something for everyone. Whether you’re a pilot, a plane spotter, a simmer or just your everyday avgeek, you’ll find something for you.

Rightly or wrongly, aviation is seen as a closed shop. There’s a perception of snootiness and exclusion that’s formed over the past 120 years of powered flight. Women are under-represented on commercial flight decks, and the costs associated with training can put the dreams of youngsters on hold.

There’s no place for any of that here. Flying is for everyone, and though it won’t always be easy for some, the difficulties are rarely insurmountable. No matter who you are, there’s a place for you in the skies.

We’re here to help out where we can, with guides and features on getting airborne, and for those already enjoying the thrill of flight, we’ll be entertaining, informing and inspiring with a host of news, features and reviews. Away from the aircraft, meanwhile, there’ll be a lifestyle section to help you make the most of your downtime.
